Landscape of User Experience in Switzerland (LUXS) 2011

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the Landscape of User Experience in Switzerland (LUXS) 2011 event, which will take place on September 8th, 2011 from 3PM to 8PM at the University of Zurich, followed by an optional informal dinner. This untraditional event, organized jointly by the University of Zurich and the SI Software Ergonomics aims to bridge the academic and industry UX communities in Switzerland. LUXS is an opportunity to meet people conducting research in Human-Computer Interaction, Usability, Interaction Design and related areas, promote your activities in these areas, and gain exposure to the current landscape and future direction of UX research taking place throughout Switzerland in a dynamic and exciting forum.

*Event format*
The event is designed to encourage networking and freeform exchange of information and ideas among participants. The half-day’s activities will entail a poster session followed by breakout discussions. Each group or institution represented will have the opportunity to present during the poster session and all participants are invited to participate in the moderated breakout discussions on a variety of topics possibly including but not limited to:

-       Bridging academia and industry in UX research
-       Funding and building support for UX research
-       Raising the profile of UX in organizations
-       Developing a network of UX expertise in Switzerland

Additionally, a booklet entitled “The Landscape of UX in Switzerland 2011″ containing profiles of each group or institution represented will be distributed at LUXS and beyond as a way of further raising awareness of Swiss UX activities and the individuals and organizations engaged in them.

*Participation*

There is no fee for attending this event apart from the informal dinner [paid for by the individuals], Groups or organizations wishing to present themselves are asked register and provide a profile to be included in the booklet by June 20, 2011. Registered participants will receive instructions on how to prepare the profile and opportunities for presenting posters or demos. Additional group members or individuals not planning on presenting may register until August 22, 2011. Please visit
