Hi everyone!
I’m back from my wonderful three months of travelling and and happy to see that quite some new members joined the group, welcome! I hope to see you soon.
Now the question is on how to proceed. We have talked several times about discussing “Designing for the Digital Age” in tranches (it’s about six hundert pages, if I remember correctly). My suggestion would be to finally tackle this, starting in March, and meet again in April and May.
So please give your oppinion in the poll:

Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence and robotics become more and more part of our daily life in the form of anthropomorphic robots for care, artificial limbs or a multitude of mobile and networked devices. The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in Zurich is a place where researchers build robots to understand how thought and intelligence is related to the body and how various types of robots interact with and in their environment. In this lab visit we will get insight into the field with presentations of current research projects, and we will have the opportunity to discuss our questions.
Further informationen: http://ailab.ifi.uzh.ch/
Detail program: see attached Event_2011-01-27_AILabtour.
About the Speaker:
Rolf Pfeifer is Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in the Department of Informatics at the University of Zurich. He is the co-author of “How the Body Shapes the Way We Think” (http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?ttype=2&tid=11003), in which the concept of embodied intelligence is presented and design principles are applied to various fields such as robotics, ubiquitous computing or organizational development.
